I‘m looking back at the first tunnel now. Yesterday, when I got to the Canyon late in the afternoon I came down this far and returned just to get an idea of what the trail would be like. So I know that the top is only about 5 minutes away.
At least it took five minutes yesterday. Actually, I‘m still feeling pretty good. If it takes longer than 5 minutes it will be because I am stopping and looking more often, trying to delay going above the rim and seeing buildings and cars and lots and lots more people.
